With reference to your letter dated 15th May, 1933, I

have the honour to submit the following in reply for the

information of His Excellency the Govenor:-

My services with this Government are nearing 28

years, and I have a family of eight persons to support, with

only myself working, as there are 6 children, who all are

attaining their education in the schools of this Colony, with

the exception of one who is also to be sent to school soon.

The ages of the children are as follows:-

son born in September 1932 died on 1st March,

1933.

At the end of December 1931, my wife received a letter

from her eldest sister stating that her only brother was so

seriously ill that there was little hope of his recovering,

and requesting her immediate return and attendance to private

affairs regarding his estate &c. as he was still without male

child. My wife then requested me to arrange for her and the

children ( with the exception of the two elder sons) to proceed

to India at an early date in as comfortable a manner as if I

was accompanying them; so after due consideration and the
